EV Charging

The City of Beaumont has installed three new ChargePoint DC Fast Charging (DCFC) Electric Vehicle charging stations at the Beaumont Civic Center.  The new charging stations are open 24 hours a day to all plug-in electric vehicles that visit the Civic Center and downtown.

The new fast charge stations can provide up to a 250-mile charge in one hour. Fees include a $0.35 per kWh energy fee with a $2 per hour parking fee after the first hour. ChargePoint stations have agreements with EVGo, Plug Share, Sema Connect, and others allowing users from competing companies to utilize the stations.

To use a ChargePoint station, customers create an account on ChargePoint’s website or download the mobile application. Payment can be made through a ChargePoint Card or through the app. On the mobile app customers can view a map of available charging stations, make payment, receive notifications when the car is finished charging or when a station becomes available, and track usage.

The Beaumont ChargePoint DC Fast Charging Stations are available at Civic Center public parking lot located at 6th Street and Orange Avenue.

Installation of the ChargePoint Station was made possible through grants awarded to Beaumont Transit from the Southern California Incentive Program (SCIP), Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Committee (MSRC) and Riverside County Transportation Commission (RCTC).
