NATIONAL COMMUNITY SURVEY
The City of Beaumont is conducting a National Community Survey. We think your input is critical to a healthy and thriving community and are excited to introduce a new and easy way for you to provide your opinions on specific topics to the City of Beaumont. Your feedback will help us be sure that our city’s policies and programs align with our residents’ values.
The National Community Survey will be used to gain information and advice on how the city is best assisting residents, and where there is room for improvement. You can participate here: polco.us/beaumont23op. It will take only a few minutes. Polco's survey will help us efficiently manage responses from you and your neighbors across the City as we reach out via email, social media and other channels. Please complete the survey by June 19th.
If you have already completed the survey by mail or online, you don't need to take it again.
Once you have answered the questions, you will be asked to provide your ZIP code to confirm where you live. This allows us to be sure we are hearing from each person only once and to know which general area of the city you live in. Your response will remain anonymous to the City, and your information will be securely stored.
In addition, we hope you will choose to provide an email address to Polco, so we can contact you with new questions and surveys available for you to participate in!
You can learn more about Polco here and see their Privacy Policy here. To learn more about how the City will utilize the public's feedback in this survey, read below.
What is the purpose of a strategic plan?
Strategic planning is an organizational management activity aimed to set priorities, goals and objectives for an organization. Once those priorities are identified it enables those responsible for carrying out those goals to focus energy and resources, strengthen operations, ensure that employees and other stakeholders are working toward common goals, establish agreement around intended outcomes/results, and assess and adjust the organization’s direction in response to a changing environment.
Strategic planning produces fundamental decisions and actions that shape and guide what an organization is, who it serves, what it does, and why it does it, all with a focus on the future. Effective strategic planning articulates not only where an organization is going and the actions needed to make progress, but also how it will know if it is successful.
The City of Beaumont has created a strategic plan for Fiscal Year 2023/2024.
On March 21, 2023, the City Council formally adopted a Strategic Plan. The plan is now a living document and will be updated and reviewed on an on-going basis. The public is welcome to provide feedback via the National Community Survey or when the plan is brought back to future City Council Meetings.

How will we use the strategic plan?
This strategic plan is a living document that will be used to define the future vision for the City of Beaumont, which will be used now and in the years to come. Having a strategic plan will allow us to:
- Make decisions and evaluate our policies, plans, programs, service delivery and processes with an eye on the future. These processes will be evaluated and prioritized based on how they intend to meet the goals and objectives of the strategic plan.
- Communicate our priorities within a credible, forward-thinking and well-understood framework so we can make effective budget and policy decisions and secure the resources we need to sustain the City into the future.
- Maintain a guiding “north star,” providing stability and more certainty in the face of election cycles, changes in leadership, economic fluctuations and changes to the state and federal regulatory environments. This gives the City greater ability to influence and steer its future direction and make better decisions during turbulent times.
How can I be involved?
In order to continue to create a plan that truly reflects the Beaumont community, we have created a National Community Survey for our residents to complete. Your feedback is valuable to help guide the City’s vision and align goals, and priorities, and prepare over the next year. To complete that survey go to polco.us/beaumont23op. It will take only a few minutes.
