Veterans Day Parade Grand Marshal Announced

Beaumont, Ca – The City of Beaumont is pleased to announce that the Grand Marshal of Beaumont’s Inaugural Veterans Day Parade will be local Veteran and Purple Heart recipient Paul St. Martin.

Paul St. Martin was inducted into the United States Army in May 1965.  After attending the Leadership Academy, Advanced Infantry Training, and Jump School, Paul was assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division.

In December 1965, Paul received orders to Vietnam where he proudly served with the 1st Cavalry Division; the same division in which General Custer served.  Paul was part of an Air Mobile Division and received the Air Medal for completing more than 25 missions over enemy territory.  During his deployment in Vietnam, Paul rose to the rank of E5 Sergeant and was awarded a Purple Heart.

After 13 months in Vietnam, Paul was assigned to the 196th Infantry in Fort Benning, Georgia where he was involved in training exercises for OCS candidates and Rangers.  Paul was honorably discharged from the service in May 1967.

The experience he gained, within the Leadership Academy and in combat, has proven instrumental to the successes Paul has had in his career, including Plant Engineering for an aerospace company and owning a successful construction and manufacturing company.

Paul and his wife, Deborah, moved to Beaumont in December 2003 as one of the early residents in Solera.   He has proudly served on the Beaumont Planning Commission for over 12 years and the Riverside County Flood Control Commission for 10 years.

The Veterans Day Parade will take place on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. The parade will begin at 12th Street and Beaumont Avenue and conclude at the Beaumont Civic Center, located at 550 E. 6th Street.

Immediately following the parade, Beaumont will host the third annual Veterans Day Ceremony on the front lawn of the Beaumont Civic Center. The event is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. with a welcome reception followed by remarks from local dignitaries. The entire community is encouraged to attend the ceremony and show their appreciation for our Veterans.

For questions regarding Veterans Day activities, please contact the Beaumont Parks and Recreation Department at (951)769-8524.
