Beaumont, CA - On September 29, 2021, at approximately 3:18 p.m., the Beaumont Police Department received a call from a local hospital reporting a gun shot victim had arrived for treatment. The victim reported to hospital staff he had been shot at a home in the 200 block of Elm Street. Members of the Beaumont Police Department Detective Bureau and Multiple Enforcement Team (MET) assumed the investigation. Detectives served a search warrant at the home where the shooting was reported to have occurred. Evidence was found believed to have been involved in the incident. It was determined the victim and suspect were familiar with each other and the shooting may have stemmed from an earlier argument.
Early the next morning an arrest was made regarding this incident. With the assistance of the Riverside County Gang Impact Team, officers were able to locate Tizoc “Tony’ Garcia, age 43, of Yucaipa. Garcia was placed under arrest for attempted murder, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and being a felon in possession of ammunition, and booked at Smith Correctional Facility in Banning. The victim was reported to be in serious condition.
