The City of Beaumont is thrilled to announce its first-ever Hispanic Heritage Celebration, a series of vibrant and educational events honoring the rich contributions of the Hispanic community. These free events are open to all ages and will take place on September 21 and November 2 at the Albert A. Chatigny Sr. Community Center (CRC) at 1310 Oak Valley Parkway. Residents and visitors are encouraged to explore and celebrate the diverse traditions, arts, and histories that have shaped our community.
On September 21, 2024, celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month featuring live entertainment, delicious food and plenty of fun!
Event highlights include:
- Lucha Libre Wrestling: The Empire Wrestling Federation will bring action-packed wrestling from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Live Music: Dance to the vibrant sounds of All the Vibes, a popular Mexican band known for their residency at Disneyland’s Viva Navidad festival, performing from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- Food & Drinks: Savor mouthwatering treats from local food vendors, along with beer sales provided by The Craft Lounge.
On Saturday, November 2, 2024 (time TBA), join us for the Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), which is celebrated in many Latin cultures, especially in México. Families gather to celebrate the lives of deceased loved ones, with music, food, beautiful altars (known as ofrendas) with photos, flowers, and favorite items.
Event highlights include:
- Community Pet Ofrenda: Beginning October 1, residents are invited to bring photos of beloved pets who have passed away to contribute to the community ofrenda.
- Catrín/Catrina Contest: Participants will showcase their creativity in traditional attire and makeup, with judging based on costumes, makeup, and presentation.
- Mariachi Music & Dancing: Enjoy lively performances throughout the day, celebrating the vibrant energy of Día de los Muertos.
- Crafts & Face Painting: Attendees can participate in themed crafts and traditional face painting activities.
- Food Vendors & Kids Zone: Delight in delicious food options and family-friendly activities. (Please note: some kids’ activities may have a fee.)
