[ARCHIVED] California Clean Air Day

Beaumont, CA—On Wednesday, October 2, 2019, the City of Beaumont hosted a tree planting ceremony in honor of California Clean Air Day.

According to the Coalition for Clean Air, California Clean Air Day is built on the idea that shared experiences unite people to action to improve community health. By joining together for a unified day of action we can create new habits to clear the air for all members of California’s diverse communities.

Beaumont showed its dedication to clean air by planting a Southern Magnolia at Fallen Heroes Park. Mayor Pro Tem Santos presided over the ceremony and highlighted Beaumont’s commitment to clean air.

“In addition to this ceremony, Beaumont is making strides towards cleaner air with the installation of a future electric vehicle charging station at the Civic Center. This new facility will enhance our Park & Ride area for those who carpool or choose to ride one of our local or regional transit bus routes,” stated Santos.

The ceremony follows the adoption of a resolution supporting California Clean Air Day by the City Council on Tuesday, September 17, 2019. For more information on Beaumont events and projects, please visit www.BeaumontCA.gov
