It is hard to believe that 2019 is drawing to a close. This past decade has been one of transition and evolution for   Beaumont. 2019 proved to be a pivotal year for the community and saw many major accomplishments that create  opportunity for many years to come.

The many accomplishments over the past year are highlighted by the construction of a new wastewater treatment plant, completion of the Potrero Boulevard overpass, major retail development, and major industrial development. Beaumont now has the capacity to accommodate growth over the next 10 to 15 years, is seeing major  diversification of its tax base, and is experiencing expansive growth in its primary jobs sectors.

Beaumont has a bright future ahead and 2020 will set the tone for the next decade. City Council is working hard to chart a progressive course and City staff look forward to bringing their vision to fruition. The community begins 2020 in a sound fiscal and economic position which affords it the opportunity to grow in a sustainable manner, which will mean better opportunities and quality of life for every citizen.

Achievements over the past year would not have been possible without the broad support of the community. Your support is greatly appreciated and I look forward to a successful 2020 and the opportunity to serve you. Happy New Year!

Todd Parton
