Posted on: June 12, 2021[ARCHIVED] Investigation: Major Injury Traffic Collision

Beaumont, Ca -On June 11, 2021, at approximately
5:29 p.m., the Beaumont Police Department began receiving 911 calls reporting a solo vehicle traffic collision on Oak Valley Parkway, just East of Palmer Avenue. Officers responded and located two downed light poles and a badly damaged vehicle off the roadway, with the driver and single male occupant trapped inside.
CalFire arrived on scene and extricated the victim from the vehicle. Due to his injuries, CalFire requested the assistance of Mercy Air to airlift the victim to a trauma hospital, where he remains in serious, but stable condition.
Based on the preliminary investigation officers believe high speeds were a factor in the collision. It is unknown at this time if alcohol or drugs were also a contributing factor.
