Beaumont, CA - The filing period for the City of Beaumont General Municipal Election is open. The filing period is open from July 18, 2022 - August 12, 2022. Available positions include:
- Three (3) City Council seats
- One (1) City Clerk
- One (1) City Treasurer
A Candidate’s Handbook, including an Official Nomination Paper, Candidate’s Statement Form, Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) Form 700 and Campaign Disclosure Forms, and other information concerning the election will be available by appointment at the City Clerk's Office.
Requirements to be a City Council Member. City councils are the local legislators at the city level. Every city has a different process for electing, and retaining city council members. In Beaumont, you must meet the following three requirements to run for office:
- Be a citizen of the United States - You must be a citizen of the U.S. and you must also be a citizen of the state you are going to run in.
- Meet your city's age requirements - In Beaumont, you must be at least 18 years old to run for city council.
- Ensure you are registered to vote in the right location – If you recently moved or changed your name, be sure to update your voter registration status to your current Beaumont address.

December 8 – Statement of Results from the Registrar of Voters (no later than this date)
