Beaumont, CA - The Riverside County Emergency Management Department, Loma Linda University Health and the City of Beaumont are providing CERT training January 13-15, 2023, at the Beaumont Civic Center.
The training is Friday, 5:00pm to 9:00pm; Saturday, 8:00am to 5:00pm and Sunday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. A 1-hour lunch break is provided.
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates volunteers about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. CERT offers a consistent, nationwide approach to volunteer training and organization those professional responders can rely on during disaster situations, which allows them to focus on more complex tasks. Through CERT, the capabilities to prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters is built and enhanced.
CERT training is a commitment of 20 hours of training. There is no cost for the training. Only those who successfully complete the practical exercise with hands-on instruction in fire suppression, search and rescue, cribbing, and medical training will receive a certificate of completion.
