Capital Improvement Plan (CIP)

Each year, as part of the budgetary process, the City Council reviews and adopts a Five-Year Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) according to the California Government Code 65403. The City of Beaumont has developed a comprehensive CIP, encompassing the need for future expansion, for the City's continued growth, and to provide our residents with the necessary retail, commercial, and recreational amenities to continue building a vibrant and active community. 

The Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) is administered by the Public Works Department for the development of various transportation, drainage, facilities, and parks projects. The Public Works staff is responsible for the management of CIP projects from initiation through final construction. The CIP process generally includes:

The City annually updates its Capital Improvement Plan, a 5-year outline of public projects it plans to construct. Funding for these projects is provided by a variety of funding sources, including development impact fees, transportation funds, grants, and reimbursement agreements, which are restricted to the purposes for which they are budgeted. Capital Improvement Projects Map

The City of Beaumont has launched an enhanced map to inform residents about the status of Capital Improvement Projects. The map displays active and completed projects such as bike lanes, building and facility improvements, parks, streets, interchanges, and traffic signals.
