SR 60/Potrero Boulevard Interchange Project- Phase II
Improving Regional Mobility and Safety in Beaumont
The SR60/Potrero Boulevard Interchange Project Phase II is a major transportation improvement led by Riverside County Transportation Commission (RCTC) in partnership with the City of Beaumont and Caltrans. The project will construct Phase II improvements at the existing interchange of State Route 60 and Potrero Boulevard to improve traffic flow, enhance safety, and support future regional growth.
Why this Project Matters
This project addresses existing and future transportation needs in Beaumont and the surrounding San Gorgonio Pass Area by:
- Reducing traffic congestion on SR -60 and local roadways
- Improving safety for drivers, commuters, freight traffic, and emergency response
- Supporting planned residential, commercial, and employment growth
- Reducing vehicle idling and improving overall air quality
Project Highlights
The SR-60/Potrero Boulevard Interchange Project Phase II includes:
- Construction of a new six-ramp partial cloverleaf interchange at SR-60 and Potrero Boulevard
- Widening Potrero Boulevard to six lanes across SR-60
- Realignment of Western Knolls Avenue to improve local connectivity
- New on-ramps and off-ramps to enhance access to SR-60
Funding and Partnerships
The project is funded through a combination of local, regional, and state transportation sources, including:
- City of Beaumont Capital Improvement Program (CIP) funds
- Riverside County Transportation Commission funding
- State transportation funds, including the SB 1 Trade Corridor Enhancement Program
- Transportation Uniform Mitigation Fee (TUMP) revenues
Key project partners include the City of Beaumont, RCTC, and Caltrans.

Construction Cost: $58m
