Encroachment Permits

- Contractor doing the work must have a valid City of Beaumont business license and State Contractor's license (Class A, C-8, or C-36 required) appropriate for the work being done.
- If the Permit Application is complete, time frame for approval ranges from 2 or 3 working days to several weeks, depending on the nature of the work.
- Permit fees for approved Applications are based on the City of Beaumont Fee Schedule. Fees start at $175.00 for minor street encroachments, and increase depending on the impact of proposed project.
- If the work performed affects traffic, whether it is pedestrian or vehicular, a Traffic Control Plan (TCP) is required. Minimum requirements for Traffic Control Plans are available at the Public Works Department.
Non-Commercial Sign Encroachment Permits

- Applicant must provide a completed application along with a sample visual of the sign(s) to be posted and a map of the proposed locations for the sign(s)
- Permit fees for approved Applications are based on the City of Beaumont Fee Schedule. Fees for these permits are fixed at $61.97 (subject to change based on the Fee Schedule).
- The requirements stated within the permit application are in accordance with Beaumont Municipal Codes (BMC) Section 17.07.
